Espaņol II

Purpose:

-         The purpose of the Spanish II course is to enable the students to communicate in Spanish at a functional level.  After the course, if the student traveled to a Spanish-speaking country, he or she would be able to express their needs and understand the basic needs of others in the target language.  The student will be able to construct thoughts; however, the manner in which he or she can express them is limited

 

Concepts covered:

-         Introductions, descriptions, pastimes, likes and dislikes

-         Feelings, suggestions, past events, asking for and offering help

-         daily routines, responsibilities, complaints

-         advice, opinions, comparisons, making plans

-         health, commands & requests, explanations

-         asking for & giving information, relating a series of events, ordering in a restaurant

-         childhood memories, descriptions of the past

-         descriptions of past events, excuses, reporting what someone said

-         asking for & giving directions, asking for assistance, shopping

-         storytelling, talking about the news

-         describing problems, consequences, expressing agreement/disagreement, obligations/solutions
