Grading Policy
Grade will be based on the following criteria:

94 -100 A
86 - 93 B
77 - 85 C
70 - 76 D
0 - 69 F
Participation Points
- Considering that PE is solely a participation class, your attendance is extremely important. YOU CANNOT EARN PARTICIPATION POINTS IF YOU ARE NOT IN CLASS! Every unit, each student will start with 100 points for their participation grade. The only way you lose points is by:
- Being late for class (-5 points)
- Being absent from class (-5 points) Note: unless it is school-related.
- Not wearing gym clothes (-5 points)
- Being off task during class (-5 points)
- Inappropriate Behavior (-5 points)
- Sitting out and refusing to participate (-10 points)
- If you have a legal absence, you may choose to do the make-up assignment to redeem your points.
- If you are late 3 times, you get Detention! Each additional tardy is another detention.

Gym Clothes
- T-shirt, Sweatshirt, or Tank Top
- Shorts or sweatpants
- Sneakers
- Socks
- Swimming Suit (one-piece or tankini) AND Don’t forget your towel!
- ALWAYS HAVE EXTRA SWEATS IN YOUR LOCKER IN CASE OF COLD WEATHER!!!!
St. Marys Athletes Policy
- Athletes failing to dress for PE will not be allowed to participate in practice or games on that day.
- Games or practices do not excuse an athlete from participating in Physical Education.
Medical Excuses
- No one will be excused from Phys Ed unless they present the teacher with an excuse note from the doctor.
- If a student has a medical excuse, they will either walk around the gym/field or complete a sport packet to earn their participation points.
Accidents
- All accidents or injuries should be reported to the instructor as soon as they occur.
- If an injury is not bothersome until after class, please notify the instructor the next day.
- Be sure to notify the instructor of an injury resulting in blood loss.
Locker Rooms
- Do not leave any clothes, books, etc. in the locker room at any time. Leave it in your locker.
- Students are expected to be in the locker rooms when the late bell rings.
Lockers
- Locks will be given out for the lockers the first week of class.
- Students are reminded to write their locker number and combination in a safe place where it will not be lost.
- Ms. McDivitt will also have the combinations in a filing box in case of an emergency.
Equipment
- Equipment should not be used unless there is proper supervision by the instructor.
- Care of the equipment is the responsibility of each student.
- The student responsible must replace equipment that is damaged or lost.
- Damaged equipment should not be used.
Class Procedures
- After the late bells rings, students will have 5 minutes to change into their athletic attire and report to the gym.
- Student will stand in line alphabetically and wait for attendance to be taken.
- Students should NEVER leave an activity area without permission by the instructor. This includes getting a drink, using the restroom, going to the nurse, or speaking to another PE teacher/coach.
- Students will be given efficient time to return to their lockers to change their clothes.
