Enrichment News & Program

Basic Goals of our Enrichment Program

1.  Development of logical and creative thought patterns through challenges consisting of weekly mental exercises which require abstract thinking, problem-solving, and application of a broad spectrum of additional intellectual skills.
2.  Proactive involvement in units, mini-courses, and other realms of learning which encourage growth in global knowledge acquisition, curiosity, imagination, originality, complex thinking, academic risk-taking, leadership, decision-making skills, and sensitivity.
3.  Researching, creating projects, and sharing this newly-acquired knowledge with others.

Our school district’s Enrichment Program strives to maintain a balance of intellectual and creative activities within various realms of higher level research and learning.  These include, but are not limited to, social studies, science, public speaking, the Arts, and “specialty” topics.  Following are some recent photographs which reflect the research and projects within these diverse learning realms.

These goals are accomplished by regular involvement in specially designed classroom activities, discussions and brainstorming sessions, filed trip and field study opportunities, and intellectual simulations and competitions.

Welcome back one and all!  The gifted students in our district will be involved with another year of stimulating intellectual and creative challenges and opportunities as they work through weekly higher level thinking skill activities and embark on study, research, and project creations in the following areas.

Middle School Enrichment students will follow the same gifted program format as in previous years, with students signing up for THREE of the mini-course listings offered this year.  First choices will be honored as much as possible.
