provided so that parents may continue to support the school’s effort in
providing a BULLY FREE ZONE!

Do your children show self-discipline?
Are they able to control their emotions in an appropriate way?
Are they able to control their behavior in all settings?
Can you child control their wants in order to make good decisions?
Continue to be a good role model for your child. Show them what good decisions you make and
how you came to your choice.
Ø Talk with your
child about the importance of making good decisions. Share with them a memory of a time when you
had to make a choice and the results.
Ø Read the story Arthur’s
Teacher Trouble and discuss with your child how Arthur used self-discipline
to solve his problems.
Ø Instead of
yelling at your child when they are doing something you do not approve of, ask
them, “Are you making a good choice now?” Discuss with them the alternatives and what
would be a good or bad choice.
Ø Read your child
the story of King Midas. Discuss with
them how he did not use his self-discipline in the story and the results of his
behavior
