Assessment Question:*

 

1.  Paper/Pencil:** Why must we follow rules during group activities?

 

     Answer:** We need to follow rules to stay safe and to make sure everyone cooperates and gets  along with others.

 

2.  Performance Question:** Students will display their understanding of working cooperatively and following rules by playing physical education games,  board games, or working in groups to put together a puzzle.

 

     Assessment Tool:**Variety of puzzles, and board games

 

Activity: Call on students to name some important cooperative rules we should follow when working together in groups.  List student responses on the board.  Break students into small groups and assign one rule from the board to each group.  Using construction paper and markers, have each group design and cut out a triangular or hexagon-shaped “sign” in which to write the cooperative group rule.  Create a classroom bulletin board using each cooperative group rule written on construction paper signs.

 

Duration:  1 hour
