Assessment Question:*

1.      Paper/Pencil: **What qualities are needed for an effective class discussion?

 

     Answer: **Taking turns, listening to others, keeping remarks and questions relevant, and responding appropriately to questions asked. .

 

2.      Performance Question: **Develop a buddy system with classes paired across grade levels (Grade 1 and Grade 3). 

 

     Assessment Tool: **Teacher observation

 

Activity: To help build positive relationships, develop a buddy system where classes pair across the grade levels (i.e. first grade pair with a third grade).  During the year the buddies do projects together, share lunch, and help one another and the school community.  Through those friendships, a respect for differences in ages and personalities develop.

 

Duration: A 30 minute class period  on 3 or 4 times through out the school year.
