According to IDEA 300.502, independent educational evaluation means an evaluation conducted by a qualified examiner who is not employed by the public agency responsible for the education of the child in question. Parents have the right to obtain an independent educational evaluation of their child.  A parent/guardian who disagrees with the results or content of an evaluation performed or obtained by the St. Marys Area School district may request an independent educational evaluation.
